Job Summary
The Litigation & Enforcement practice group at Ropes & Gray is currently seeking experienced mid-level litigation associates to join our team in the Boston office. Associates in this position will have a minimum of four years of sophisticated legal experience in all aspects of complex commercial and class action litigation, corporate governance and shareholder suits, deal-related litigation, breach of contract, and other complex disputes in order to represent public corporations, financial services and investment management firms, and private equity clients in a variety of state and federal jurisdictions.
Duties/Responsibilities
Associates must have four to seven years of equivalent litigation experience and must currently work at a large law firm, with a proven ability to:
- manage complex litigation matters;
- draft and prepare litigation documents;
- conduct legal research and draft persuasive pleadings, motions and briefs;
- oversee discovery and participate in mediation and arbitration;
- develop and maintain strong client relationships; and
- mentor and train junior associates.
Required Skills/Abilities
Candidates must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, a history of academic success and admitted to practice law in the state of Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have four to seven years of comparable litigation experience working at a large law firm. Candidates should also possess a strong work ethic, excellent writing skills, superior analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong negotiation and advocacy skills will also be essential.
